Americans(civil) who lost their lives in world war 2 stand at twelve thousand mark, as per the data available on Wikipedia but COVID-19 killings have already surpassed that figure. Not only that more than 360 thousand Americans are still continuing their fight against this invisible enemy that originated at Wuhan in China.
America: the superpower.
America is the only superpower in the world after the dissolution of its arch-rival USSR in 1991 and so no one has ever dared to question the superiority of the big brother but they struggling at the hand of a virus signifies that nature can be an enemy that no superpower would like to mess with. America after the world war has been involved in almost all major war be it the Korean war, Vietnam war, Iran war, Iraq war, Afghanistan war or the Syrian civil war to name a few but they never fought on their land that not only saved the lives of hard-working American but also avoided damages to the economy that could be inflicted due to the destruction of infrastructure by their enemies.
Who to blame for this pandemic?
While the human is the enemy of itself with an irresponsible attitude towards nature and other living things, there are few who are more responsible than others for this deadly virus upspring.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China🇨🇳. pic.twitter.com/Fnl5P877VG— World Health Organization (WHO) (@WHO) January 14, 2020
So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 9, 2020
Currently, COVID-19 is claiming 5 American lives every 4 minutes and the rate is increasing day by day. If we keep proceeding with this rate only God knows how many families will be destroyed by the lethal virus. Even after squandering trillions of US taxpayers money on R&D, wasting hundreds of billions on the weapon of mass destruction, and spending billions on healthcare, today America finds itself handicapped in front of the life-threatening virus which in some sense is the reckoning of nature. The only thing we can do now is to take precautions to avoid it and pray for the well being of others.
